Steven and I finally survived college and since April have become alumni of Brigham Young University. (wow, that word makes a person sound so old.) Then after graduation it was kind of like...now what.
Well I'll tell you what.

First off we celebrated...everything...by taking our long anticipated trip to ENGLAND!!! (The picture above is the actual resort that we stayed at) It was wonderful and I highly recommend renting a car and driving on the wrong side of the road to the country parts of the country. Also honking at lambs. Because they have a cute run. And it's fun.
We returned to the homeland in a jobless state. Steve and I both had on-campus jobs which we had to "retire" from once we graduated. Looking back, it was kind of nice. I don't know how many times in our young life Steve and I will both be able to stay at home together with no immediate responsibilities. How did we pay for rent you ask? Gardening! Man, it was almost like we were actually a cute retired couple. Fortunately for us, Uncle Bill and Mum had some lovely gardening and home projects for us to do. So I may have a sore back, but at least I got some sun.
Then it was Steven's big trip to Nauvoo with the BYU ballroom team for two weeks. Mumma Howell, Katrina, and Richard let me carpool with them to see it - - -and it was spectacular! The dance team was superb and I clammed our little group the unofficial cheerleaders of the team. You would be SURE to hear us every night that we were there. I was only there one of the two weeks of the trip so I spent the next week playing with my sister and her little girl taking advantage of my last chance to be with them before Madelynn forgets who I am.

Once Steven came back - we took care of some business (cavity fillings, car packing, cat caring) and then off to the races!
Day 1 : 9 hrs in the car to CO, springs. Cat was drugged to sleep - but the
n ran away once we stopped at my aunt and uncle's place. :(
Day 2: Ate breakfast with Pop-pop at the hospital of all places...Steven really liked it. Spent the rest of the morning looking for the cat (we even went to a local shelter...but no luck) and finally left by 11am to start the 9hr trek to Kansas City, MO to stay with some cousins.
Day 3: Woke up in the wee hours of the morning (6am) to get ready for our 14 hr trek to our detour in Bonaire, GA!
Day 4: Stayed and played in Georgia with Rob, Amber, baby William, and the unseen Elizabeth. What a much needed break! We had so much fun with them at the pool, watching Twilight ...and just hanging out stretching our legs.
Day 5: Much to our dismay, we hit the road one more time making the final 12 1/2 hr final drive up to Maryland.
It was quite an adventure, and we are excited to be here in Maryland, but of course we will always have our ties back to Utah. Not only does Steve's immediate family still live there but so does my sister! I know that I already miss her.
...and yet the adventures continue...I'm working for the summer at fort meade before graduate school at Gallaudet University starts in the fall, Steve is persistently searching for a salary-type job, and in the meantime we're staying in my parent's basement. It's all very exciting, but I have to admit, it makes me anxious as well.
